Continuing a Proud Family Tradition
Drs. Mike and Jim Muff come from a long line of dentists. Their grandfather graduated from the USC School of Dentistry in 1929–his three sons would follow in his footsteps beginning with Mike and Jim’s father who began practicing in 1964. Mike and Jim’s eldest brother is an Oral Surgeon in Reno, NV. Mike and Jim are proud to carry on the family tradition, drawing on over a century of dental experience not just in clinical practice, but in providing quality, ethical dental care where patient comfort and satisfaction are paramount.
Both Doctors are graduates of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Mike majored in Ecology, while Jim earned his bachelor’s degree in English. Between classes, they each spent their fair share of time surfing and exploring up and down the central California coast.
Mike, a 2004 graduate of the USC School of Dentistry, began his career working with his uncle as an associate in Auburn, CA. He immersed himself in the many dimensions of private practice and was able to hone his skills before establishing himself in solo practice. Mike and his wife, Britta, have four children Cavin, Zachary, Vivienne, and Charlotte. Since moving to Chico in 2006 they have come to love all that Chico has to offer. The small town feel and sense of community are what they treasure the most. In their free time Britta is an avid runner and you can find Mike mountain biking in Upper Bidwell Park or fishing on the Sacramento river.
Following his time at the USC School of Dentistry where he was elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society, Jim completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program located in Hilo, Hawaii in 2010 and found himself drawn back to northern California to be close to friends and family. He and his wife Katie have three children: Brooke, Gordon and Elizabeth. They enjoy spending time in the great outdoors whether on foot, bike, boat or skis.
